If you’re familiar with heat transfer vinyl, you know the 3 major steps in the process of decorating a garment with the materials are: Cutting, Weeding, and Heat Applying. Now, if I asked you to rank the steps from best to worst, weeding would probably fall in the number 3 spot. I’m sure it’s nothing personal, but weeding can easily become the most time consuming and labor intensive part of the entire design.

A lot of apparel decorators cringe at the word and hit the door running. Personally, I am waiting for the next great invention to be made like an ultra fast weeding machine or some contraption that will immediately dissolve the excess material from the carrier. A girl can dream, can’t she?

Until those inventions come along, all we can do is share the tips that we have to make this step in the process a little easier. So to save you from pulling out anymore of your hair, here is a trick for weeding your designs faster and easier.
