Some people dread them, some cannot wait for them to come to see people they haven’t seen in a long time, but no matter which side your customers take, class or family reunions make apparel decorators money during the summer. If you haven’t marketed to families or schools organizing the reunions, you should. Each order is usually around 100 people, so there are no small quantities and the organizers are trying to find a fast, easy, and economical method to get their shirts printed.

Add family member names to the designs for a personal touch

Many of these groups will not come to your shop with their own designs so this is the perfect opportunity to make it easy on yourself as a decorator. There are many pre-designed layouts out there that can be customized for each event. There are even some that allow you to add the family member names to make it even more personal. Either way, show them the designs and have them choose one instead of starting from scratch. This makes your job easier and also makes the turnaround time on the job shorter. When choosing a professionally designed layout from the Easy Prints Idea Book for example, a one color print (which most reunion orders are), ships out the same business day if you order it before 11am eastern.

This design is QRN-77 out of the Transfer Express Idea Book.

If you haven’t experienced reunion organizers before, be prepared that they will order their shirts a few days before the event, giving you minimal time to finalize the design, shirt colors, quantities, and of course, get the shirts printed! Don’t worry though, because with a heat press, design layouts and fast turnaround times for screen printed transfer orders, you can get it done and keep the business.
