Transfer Paper – How do you make Mirror Images with type styles?

We started a 3 part Webinar series this week, Can I Make My Own Transfers?  Yes You Can with Transfer Papers – Part 1 on Tueday, November 23rd.

Jay Anderson emailed us a question,  and we thought everyone could use the answer to this, especially if you are new to printing your own transfers:

Jay asked, “How do you make “mirror image” typestyles?”

Remember, if you are printing words or numbers on transfer paper, you will have to mirror or flip the word to be able to read it properly once you heat apply the transfer to your shirts.  Here is how to quickly make this change in Corel:

Type Your Word In Corel

Step 1:  Type in word or import image with words.

Go to WINDOWS, then DOCKERS, TRANSFORMATIONS, ROTATE
Go to WINDOWS, then DOCKERS, TRANSFORMATIONS, ROTATE

Step 2:   Select word, go to Windows, then Dockers, then Transformations, then Rotate.  Once you do this, you will see a Rotate option and a Mirror Option.  You want to mirror horizontally.

Step 3:  Once you use this function, Corel will insert quick buttons, at the top of your tool bar, so you won’t have to go through process again.

For those that want kids to color onto transfer paper, you will have to use a font that is not filled, or remove solid color, and then mirror so they will have an open font for filling in with crayons or markers.

If you have a question about heat printing, please send us an email or post a comment to our blog. We want to hear from you!
